Today I convinced my girlfriend, Sheena, that there was a demonic ghoul on campus killing every first born child it encountered. I assured her I was in no danger because I was not the first born child in my immediate family. I did, however, urge her to stay away from the University area in case the demon decided to mobolize. She reluctantly obliged. I then tell her that there was a similiar ghoul doing the same thing at her college campus. Three seconds after sending the text message, Sheena calls me. I ignore the call because my proffesor is mere seconds from delivering a rousing lecture about "cost estimation" and the ever so complicated "MASTER BUDGET". Rather then telling Sheena the truth, I take it upon myself to keep this joke going. I tell her that I can't talk because I am hiding from the ghoul. Sheena then sends me a message that reads "Hahahaha". I take this as nervous laughter. I then receive another text message inquiring the validity of my story. I reply "Yes. I am serious about the murderous, demonic, ghoul terrorizing the USF and HCC campuses." At this point Sheena realizes that the entire story was fabricated.
. : and . . . . Scene : .
What makes this story even more amusing is the pure terror that took place in my girlfriend's mind. For one reason or another, Sheena forgets what the word "ghoul" means or skims over the word all together while reading my text message. This is a forgivable offense because she had been at work since early this morning and was probably knee deep in office work. For all she knew, there was some psychotic man running around campus eviscerating first born children. While this story does sound completely insane on paper, stranger things have happened. Sheena not only believes my story about the feral fiend, she even goes as far as to warn co-workers about the carnage. My girlfriend has a tendancy to be very gulible. I'm not saying this to be mean or malicious but it's the truth and I lover her for it. She is a very trusting individual and I am lucky to have her in my life.
. . . Epilougue. . .
Right now, I am cautiously anticipating Sheena's retaliation. Knowing how my girlfriend operates this will come at a moment I am least expecting. There is also a high probablity of it being exponentially better than my prank about the psychopathic ghoul who has a grudge against first born children.
