Back in the Blog game and the meaning of Pluto's uprising

After a long hiatus, I have decided to get back into this "blog" game. I used to keep a fairly up to date blog on myspace, however, my recent departure from the popular social networking site has made that very difficult. After months and months of a literary void in my life, I am glad to finally find a medium where I can "unleash the beast".

With that said, I would like to intoduce myself. My name is Brandon and I am from Tampa, Florida. I currently go to the University of South Florida and I am majoing in Accounting. I am a self-proclaimed nerd. I am very much into movies, video games, and comic books, which will be the primary focus of most of my posts. I am currently in a pretty serious relationship with the wonderful Sheena Romero. We have been together for about 4 years now and if things continue to go the way they are, we may grow old together. At this point in my life, I am trying to focus primarily on school. I do have a part time job but that is the extent of my employment. In a few years, I hope to achieve the seemingly unrealistic goal of graduating and travel to England, Ireland and Japan.

Now that I have bored you with my little introduction, I'd like to go into what you can expect from my blog and give you a brief explanation of the title.

As I stated above, you can expect a large amount of post dedicated to the subjects of video games and movies. Most of the game posts will be of games that I have played, intresting anecdotes associated with games, and a little bit of commentary on issues in games. The movie post will strictly be reviews or thoughts on recent movies I have seen. I will also include personal updates from time to time.

I wouldn't feel right if I didn't explain the title. The term Pluto's uprising is a refrence to infamous Disney canine. Pluto has never really been my favorite Disney character, and come to think of it I have never been a huge Disney fan to begin with, however, I have always identified with his plight. He is a flagship character but is treated like a second class citizen. He is made to sleep outside and eat off the floor under the guise that he is an animal, a mere household pet. However, Goofy is also a dog, but he is able to hangout with the Disney's darling child, Mickey, and star in his own feature length movie. This is where the injustice lies. I know this isn't that serious of a subject but I feel for the pup. So, in otherwords, my title is a bit of an homage to the character.

Well, I think I'm going to wrap this post up. Expect more to come in the future.
